New Zealand is a highly developed, tech-forward economy with a rapidly growing enterprise cloud sector, heavily concentrated in Auckland and Wellington.
As a remote island nation, it is incredibly protective of its local ecosystem. The New Zealand Customs Service and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) operate with absolute zero-tolerance for compliance failures.

Importing technology into New Zealand requires careful navigation of local customs, taxation, and compliance laws to avoid costly delays.
New Zealand is a very low-tariff environment for technology. Most enterprise IT and telecommunications hardware is imported completely duty-free.
However, a standard 15% Goods and Services Tax (GST) applies to all imports, calculated on the sum of the Customs Value, duty (if any), and international freight and insurance costs.
Deploying tech into New Zealand requires a partner who can flawlessly execute RSM compliance and MPI biosecurity protocols. IOR Cloud Ltd. operates as your expert, locally registered Importer of Record.
We manage the complex RCM certification process and ensure your freight packaging is fully compliant, guaranteeing swift clearance at Auckland Airport.
