This aggressively pro-tech stance makes Rwanda highly attractive for foreign IT investments, despite being a small, landlocked nation.

Importing technology into Rwanda requires careful navigation of local customs, taxation, and compliance laws to avoid costly delays.
While Rwanda applies the EAC CET (where duties range from 0% to 25%), the government often grants tax incentives and duty exemptions for specialized IT equipment used in approved investment projects.
Standard imports not covered by exemptions will attract the applicable duty, an 18% Value Added Tax (VAT), and a 1.5% Infrastructure Development Levy.
Importing into Rwanda is relatively efficient but requires strict adherence to RURA and RSB standards. IOR Cloud Ltd. removes the administrative burden, acting as your local Importer of Record in Kigali.
We manage the end-to-end process, from securing RURA type approvals to executing seamless cross-border logistics from neighboring seaports.
